Raised in a multicultural environment, on St. Croix, in the Virgin Islands, I am a hurricane survivor many times over. I embrace diversity and exploring new ideas and places. I aim to motivate clients to uncover their strengths and draw upon their personal insights. Gentle, warm, intuitive, and creative, I see the world as a place of possibilities.
My approach to therapy is client-centered and solution focused. This includes providing empathy, fostering open communication through trust and humor, and empowering you to create a plan that is unique to you. I sometimes integrate art making, play, and storytelling into counseling.
An educator for over a decade, as an art teacher and counselor, I have had the privilege of counseling individuals from many different backgrounds and walks of life. I work with children, adolescents, adult individuals and couples.
I am a graduate of Saint Olaf College (B.A in Studio Art and Asian Studies), The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (M.A in Art Education), North Park University (Learning Behavior Specialist, Educator License LBS1/PEL) and DePaul University (M.Ed in Counseling, LPC).
