I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Chicago and completed my doctoral internship at the University of Idaho Counseling and Testing Center. Over the past eight years, I have provided psychotherapy and psychological testing services across a variety of settings that have included university counseling centers, a therapeutic day school, and a behavioral health clinic affiliated with a prominent medical hospital in Chicago.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and mood-related concerns, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, coping with adjustment and life transitions, anger issues, and marriage and couples counseling. Assisting individuals in navigating existential concerns and stage-of-life challenges (with a focus on working with adolescents and adults) is a particular interest of mine. Other areas of interest include identity development across the lifespan, social and behavioral challenges, and trauma work. When suitable, I also enjoy offering psychological evaluations pertaining to issues including AD/HD and other attention-related concerns, learning disabilities, issues with executive functioning, and memory-related problems. I feel that the assessment process can often be beneficial in precisely identifying the underlying issues that may be compromising an individual’s daily functioning.

My previous clinical training has placed a heavy emphasis on working cross-culturally with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Having benefited from specialized training in the delivery of culturally informed (and culturally sensitive) therapy, I strive to be an active ally to the LGBT as well as racial minority communities. Integrating a variety of evidence-based therapies (including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and client-centered techniques) enables me to provide the most effective and appropriate care to best meet the specific needs of my clients. I work to create a supportive, non-judgmental, safe, and empathic therapeutic environment, which I believe is conducive to openly discussing and addressing issues that are standing in the way of living a healthier and happier life. In working with my clients, I have found that utilizing a collaborative and individualized treatment approach is effective in identifying and better understanding the underlying causes of concerns and challenges they face. Through our work together, I will assist you in discovering and refining strategies to effectively manage these difficulties and successfully achieve your identified therapy goals.

I am an avid lover of film, literature, and music (both listening to and playing it) and have a general passion for the arts. I am grateful to have the opportunity to travel to and explore parts of the world that are unfamiliar to me (most recently having spent time in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan). As a lover of animals, I find considerable pleasure in spending time in nature. I am also fond of spending my free time becoming more acquainted with Chicago, my home away from home. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and engaging in tennis matches and bowling with friends. I find great importance and value in my ability to be empathic, supportive, and understanding in all of my relationships, both personal and professional. Like so many of those I meet in this field, I strive to find happiness and peace through these forms of self-care and through the care and support that I am able to offer those I encounter in my day-to-day experience. I derive a profound sense of personal satisfaction in assisting others in their quest to gain fulfillment and happiness in their lives.
