I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2017, and am in the process of completing my doctorate at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
During my clinical training, I have enjoyed working with adults and families who are coping with anxiety, loss, adjustment, and mood issues and also have enjoyed working with and treating acute psychological disorders. My passion lies in multiculturalism and I have had the opportunity to work with individuals who come from many different backgrounds. I try to always consider the role that diversity plays in each person’s life. I am also bilingual and speak Gujarati/Hindi.
I aim to cultivate a safe space where clients can feel empowered and motivated to explore what meaningful change can look like for them. My approach brings a strong sense of thoughtfulness and empathy to each session in order to work collaboratively with the client to bring about positive changes while incorporating their strengths. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques in order to provide clients with the tools and resources they may need to better understand their symptoms and more effectively cope with the difficulties that they are experiencing. During my training, I have come to appreciate combining psychological testing as well as therapy in order to gain a more comprehensive picture of what my clients are struggling with and use this knowledge to inform my treatment recommendations for each client.
