Presenting Concerns – Adults: ADHD, Anxiety, Grief/Loss, Life Transitions
I enjoy working with children and families dealing with a range of challenges such as ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use a strength based approach with clients. I believe that every client has strengths that can be enhanced along with learning the tools to assist with life’s challenges.
My strategies when working with children and families include using empathic listening, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and play-based therapy. I view the family as a whole unit and when one member of the family is struggling, the entire family is often affected.
I have spent the last 7 years working in Early Intervention and working with families in their homes. I have two children, a 14 year old daughter and 11 year old son. Having recently gone through the experience of my own son’s ADHD diagnoses, I have a greater understanding of how to support families that find themselves in similar situations.I enjoy spending time with family and friends as much as possible and traveling to new places.
I hope to help children and families navigate through our ever changing world and gain a clearer understanding of how to better their mental health.
