Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) Approach

The Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach is a family-based program for children and adolescents who have trouble regulating their emotions, or act in ways that are defiant or aggressive.

Developed by Dr. Ross Greene, CPS is an evidence-based, trauma-informed, neurodiversity affirming model of care that helps caregivers focus on identifying the problems that are causing concerning behaviors in kids and solving those problems collaboratively and proactively. Research shows that the CPS model helps with:

  • Anger and meltdowns
  • School discipline problems including frequent detentions and suspensions
  • Aggressive behaviors
  • Defiance
  • Improved family relationships
  • Improved communication
  • Improved empathy

The CPS model is trauma-informed, transdiagnostic, and transcultural.

Morgan Black, Ceara Mendoza, Sarah Seebold, Katie Wells, Mikiela Cobb, Christy Scolaro and Dr. Quinn are trained in the CPS approach.
