Presenting Concerns – Adults: ADHD, Anger Management, Anxiety, ASD, Trauma
I lead therapy with a strength-based approach and believe all clients have the ability to reach their full potential as they grow to learn about themselves. My love for working with children started during my summers in northern Wisconsin where I was an overnight camp counselor for 9 summers! Connecting with kids and empowering them to set and achieve their goals is something I am very passionate about and want all kids to experience.
I earned my masters degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work with a concentration in school social work. I have been working at an elementary school since August 2018. During my time as a school social worker, I’ve partnered with students and families with diagnoses and concerns including ASD, AD/HD, anxiety, depression, trauma, sensory needs, divorce, peer conflict, social skills, school refusal, and behavior interventions. As a school social worker, I strive to be an advocate for children during the special education process and educating parents on their rights.
I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. I have a wide background and training in various social skills therapies, emotional regulation, self-esteem skills, and problem-solving skills.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and their dog Dakota, visiting my nephew in Milwaukee, exploring new places to eat and experience in Chicago, trying new workout classes, and completing 1,000+ piece puzzles!
