During my academic journey at Illinois State University, I pursued my passion for psychology, ultimately earning my doctorate in School Psychology. Throughout my graduate studies and internships, I immersed myself in diverse clinical settings, including university clinics, outpatient centers, and primary care facilities. In these environments, I honed my skills in providing behavioral therapy to individuals spanning all ages, grappling with a wide array of concerns, such as anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and various mood and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Grounded in a commitment to equity and social justice, I focused my research and clinical practice on delivering culturally responsive services to families from diverse backgrounds and marginalized identities. Central to my approach is a strengths-based perspective, where I prioritize identifying and amplifying both familial and individual strengths while collaboratively addressing specific challenges.
I firmly believe in the importance of tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual and family. Through a collaborative process, I actively engage with my clients, attentively listening to their perspectives and priorities in treatment. Understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, I invest significant effort in customizing my services to best suit the circumstances and goals of each family.
In addition to therapy, I provide families with behavioral management training aimed at fostering stability and consistency within the home environment. Drawing from a blend of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I integrate various therapeutic modalities to support the holistic well-being of my clients.
Given my background in school psychology, I place particular emphasis on collaborating with school personnel and other service providers to ensure continuity of care and support across different settings. By coordinating efforts between home and school environments, I strive to create a seamless and comprehensive approach to promoting the growth of the individuals and families I serve.
