Presenting Concerns – Children: Anger, ASD, LGBTQIA+, Culturally Sensitive Work, Anxiety, PTSD/trauma, Behavior and Emotion Regulation, Problematic Sexual Behaviors or Concerns, Depression

My name is Ariel Fethiere! I am a postdoctoral psychologist working towards licensure. I earned my doctorate from Nova Southeastern University (Davie, FL) and completed internship at Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (Canton, OH). I have also worked in community mental health, school, and private practice settings. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents, and families in marginalized communities who have experienced anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have researched and presented on the impact of discrimination and racial trauma on youth of color and how to further explore and treat resulting emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal difficulties. Additionally, I have experience working with children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder, difficulties with anger management, and complex trauma. I also have experience and training working with children and teenagers displaying and engaging in problematic sexual behaviors.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, grounded in object relation theories and attachment, and integrating interventions from other evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, positive psychology, PCIT). My goal is to help strengthen a child, teen, or family’s trust in their environment and themselves, enhance parent-child interactions, and foster a safe therapeutic space.
