“I help children and adolescents navigate difficult feelings, life transitions, and adverse experiences by placing them at the center of their own story and acting as a guide to find the tools for authentic and healthy emotional expression.”

In August of 2025, I graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Master’s in School and Community Counseling. I discovered my love for working with adolescents while employed as a Registered Behavior Technician in a school that focused on Applied Behavioral Analysis for autistic children. It was here that I realized how novel and impactful it can be to simply provide children a platform to express themselves without domineering adult judgement. I have carried that belief into my work as a School Counselor in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago, where I provide services to children who may not have access to any form of therapy otherwise. At the school, my belief in the importance of early therapeutic intervention has deepened, and I’ve also come to understand how important family dynamics can be in shaping a child’s ability to practice learned concepts consistently.

As a child and adolescent therapist, I have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Play Therapy, and Art as Therapy. I believe in a person-centered eclectic and integrated approach to my counseling practice, where techniques will be altered and molded to best help the individual. Although I have found some adolescents to be more receptive than others, I believe in the importance of mindfulness practice. Especially in not-so-easy periods of children’s lives, it is incredibly powerful to have actionable strategies to fall back on and ground oneself. At such a critical developmental period, my aim is to help children and adolescents truly feel that they are the authors of their own story and that their thoughts will be seen, heard, and respected.

In my free time, I love reading on my kindle (the Libby app is so awesome for downloading digital library books), making and discovering new music, and cooking!
