With over twelve years of experience, I use an eclectic model to treat both children and adults, from person-centered to solution focused.
I mainly specialize in trauma. To treat trauma, I primarily use EMDR, which has been an extremely effective and efficient modality which is an evidence based research modality. I am trained in EMDR I and II and have been practicing for many years. Also, I like to work on inner child wounds with adults to address trauma induced in childhood.
However, my main approach with clients is to combine a person centered approach, which is warm and empathetic, meeting the clients where they are, with a solution based approach to find the results and solutions that clients are looking for, feeling relief. I am actively engaged with the treatment plan with the client. With children, I like to figure out how to work on the best coping skills to help them navigate the world with greater ease.
I have worked in numerous settings, ranging from IOP to residential to outpatient. I have been certified in DBTtraining, ADHD, substance abuse, Reiki, yoga and life coaching.
I have volunteered at an orphanage for burnt children victims in Peru, Hurricane Katrina victims, food shelters, and have volunteered at animal shelters for many years.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games with my neurodivergent 9 year old son, AJ and have two Siberian cats. We enjoy hiking, exercising, yoga, being in nature, and swimming.
