My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to create a safe space that allows each individual to feel supported, comfortable, encouraged, and heard. I believe in the importance of meeting each client where they are, increasing self-awareness, identifying strengths, and working alongside each client towards their treatment goals. I use an empathetic and positive, client-centered approach. I also gravitate towards CBT and mindfulness in my approach.
I earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Roosevelt University. I earned my BA in Psychology and BS in Health Studies w/Teacher Certification from Eastern Illinois University. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents (PreK-12), in the school setting as a school counselor and educator. I love forming connections with kids & teens at all levels, in order to help them reach their academic, social, and emotional potential.
My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief & loss, life transitions, school issues, and women’s issues. I also have a special passion for working with women who have experienced perinatal loss.
When I am not working, you’ll find me soaking up most of my time with my husband & three boys! I also enjoy a warm cup of coffee, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
