Social Emotional Growth Groups and Workshops
Surf the Waves Fall 2024
Our 10 week Surf the Wave program is designed for grade-schoolers who struggle with managing big emotions. Some kids feel everything more intensely, have trouble calming down once upset, or have sad/mad/scared feelings that seem much bigger than those of others kids We teach these kids how to self-soothe, cope with changes, show compassion towards self and others, and manage frustration so they can understand and express their feelings peacefully and calmly. Your child will learn strategies to manage their big feelings and grow their emotional vocabulary in our fun and interactive group!

Ages – 6-8 – Tyra Jackson – Fridays – 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm starting Friday, 9/20/24
Ages – 9-11 – Halie Kellett – Thursdays – 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm starting Thursday, 9/19/24
BCBS PPO can be billed for group (plus a $50 materials fee due at registration) – client would be responsible for any copays, deductibles and coinsurances. $38 session cancellation fee. Out of pocket rate is $430 total – ($50 materials fee due at registration, plus $380 session costs due prior to group start)
Heroes Group Fall 2024
The Hero’s Journey group is an 8-week group in which your teens will become brave adventurers and work together to create a story in which they solve problems and fight monsters. They will develop social skills and understanding through an experience-based environment in which they can learn to manage their emotions, navigate conflict, express their ideas, and understand others through a fun table-top roleplaying game! If your teen struggles with communicating thoughts and feelings, flexible thinking, working with others, understanding others, self confidence/self esteem, impulse control, and making friends, they could be a good fit for this group! This group is intended for ages 13-18, and welcomes teens with varying concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, and autism!

Teen Anxiety Group Fall 2024
This is a 10-week group designed to help teens ages 13-18 face and overcome their fears and anxiety by using exposure and response prevention therapy, an evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety. In this group, your child will learn and practice strategies for long-term anxiety reduction, face and conquer their fears, connect with peers with similar struggles, and build confidence and self esteem! By the end of this group, your child will understand how fears and anxiety build over time, tolerate anxiety, and how to implement ongoing strategies for managing their anxiety. Facing your fears can be hard, but we believe your teen is capable of doing hard things and are excited to help them along the way.
